The disproportional attention of todays media is paid to the
neverending debating between US-president Trump and dictator
Kim Jong-Un. Too many prejudices about this regime - no
definite answers. Always in the background and forgotten are
the people and the human rights situation in North Korea.
This is, where this project takes action: „Liberty“ is a non profit
organization which focuses on the deep layers of the regime
and gives North Korean people a voice to be heard in the world.
What exactly is North Korea? Who are the people living there?
How many more decades do we have to wait until reunification?
Taking detailed research work as the founda- tion a very bold
and diverse campaign concept was created to draw attention
and make a lasting impact.
This concept project was created as my graduation work 2018 and inspired by the refugee rescue organization: www.libertyinnorthkorea.org
The main visuals are represented by digital posters. Each one of them display a subject connected with North Korea in it’s own unique way.
Posters are a tool known for delivering messages and statements in a quick and striking way which was my intention. Furthermore I decided not to use a specific grid to have a full range of design opportunities. North Korea is a very sensitive subject but also a topic which should not be classified into one exact grid or typeface. As a result, all posters use different fonts, colors and techniques. Apart from the posters the website offers further and more detailed information about each animation. Beyond that it gives viewers the opportunity to contribute their donations to help North Korean refugees start a new and humane life outside the dictatorship.
